Summer 2018 Schedule:

 

Painting and Drawing Intensive with Deborah Thompson

4 classes July 23 – 26 10am – 4pm Monday-Thursday

Course Description:

This studio workshop will focus on exploring the relationship between painting and drawing. Drawing exercises will familiarize students with the fundamentals of light on form, the creation of pictorial space and the gathering of visual information.  These ideas will be transferred into a series of paintings. Demonstrations and application of colour theory will be part of each day along with critiques, discussions and slide presentations. Time will be devoted to the students pursuit of self-directed painting.

Course fee: $220 + Material fee: $30 + SEE LIST FOR REQUIRED MATERIALS

Zero to Sixty: Ukulele Intensive with Catherine McGrath

5 classes: July 30 – August 3 1 pm – 3 pm Monday – Friday CLASS FULL

Course description:

The course is designed for people who have no or little experience playing ukulele and will begin with the very basics – how to tune, hold, and strum the ukulele – followed by the introduction of two simple chords and a number of catchy two-chord songs. Additional chords will be added gradually and song complexity will increase. The course will also cover a variety of strumming patterns and some very basic and useful music theory.

Course fee: $130 Material fee:  $10
