Course Description:

Course Description:

Clowning is an art form and a state of being – a way of experiencing the world, and a form of artistic communication.  We will explore clowning from both an internal and external perspective, honing our abilities to be “in” clown, as well as our storytelling and devising skills.  Students will develop clown characters, practice improvisation and embodiment, and create a finished skit or story. We have opted to move this session of the class online, so that masks don’t get in our way.  Zoom provides a really interesting perspective and toolbox for clown creation, allowing us the safety and privacy of our own spaces, and a frame to play in. The medium of online clowning has grown profoundly in the last year, with lots of inspiring work to draw from – we will make the most of the screen experience!

No experience necessary!
