Oxygen Art Centre welcomes Greta Hamilton as our Literary Arts Coordinator!

 

Greta Hamilton is a writer raised as a settler on Liǥwildaʼx̱w Kwakwaka’wakw territory. They currently reside as a guest on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Greta holds a BA Honours from OCAD University in Visual and Critical Studies, that culminated in an auto-theoretical thesis considering the queerness of public bathing. They are a writer of poetry, essays and emails, and have written on topics including feminist photography, fermentation, saunas, cyborg futures, and dragons. They are an editor and co-founder of Silverfish Magazine in Tkaronto/Toronto. Their writing has appeared in C MagazineMaclean’s MagazineGrain Magazine, and in numerous exhibition statements and zines. Greta will be working on the Author Reading Series, exhibition catalogues and didactics, as well as conducting research on a project to start an arts publication. Greta can be reached at literaryarts@oxygenartcentre.org.
