new employee

Oxygen Art Centre welcomes Ayal Heinrichs in the position of Gallery Assistant for the summer.

Ayal hails from the West Coast of BC and her pottery is influenced by her love for the rainy landscape of her childhood and the desire to share beauty with those around her. Raised by parents who loved art and encouraged creativity, she spent much of her childhood and adolescence making art in many different mediums. Ayal has always loved and appreciated handmade pots and, in 2018, when she first learned how to throw, she was immediately hooked. In 2020 she moved to Nelson to take the ceramics program at KSA. Since graduating she has apprenticed with several local artists, continuing to learn and develop her skills and voice as an artist. She is so excited to be joining the team at Oxygen Art Centre this summer and to become more connected to her local community.

The Gallery Assistant position is generously funded by the Young Canada Works program.

Welcome, Ayal!
